The SkyPouch concept

SkyPouch is the regional drone freight network concept being developed through Fourier UAS. It explores a combination of suitable aircraft, receiving infrastructure, local handling and road connections for regional businesses and communities.

The long-term ambition is a wider network that supports everyday freight and provides additional options during disruption. This is a development ambition, not a statement of current national coverage or operational capability.

An East–West Queensland example

Schematic example only. No selected sites, approved flight paths or confirmed delivery partners.

Toowoomba–Dalby–Roma–Charleville illustrates how inland towns might form part of an East–West freight model. The example connects regional service needs with the broader road and logistics system.

The diagram is schematic. It does not identify approved flight paths, selected landing sites, participating councils or contracted partners. Demand, land access, aircraft suitability and approvals would shape any future route.

Potential freight applications

  • Commercial parcels and business supplies where service demand supports the model.
  • Urgent machinery spares for agriculture and regional industry.
  • Healthcare and essential supplies, subject to appropriate packaging and handling.
  • Priority goods during floods and recovery when aircraft, access and conditions permit.

A staged development approach

The initial planning concept considers trials with 5–10 kg consignments before evaluating larger payloads. This is a development assumption, not a verified service specification. Payload, range and frequency would depend on selected equipment, permissions and demonstrated capability.

Development priorities include freight demand, commercial viability, infrastructure options, local skills and the path to a safe, authorised operation.

Your questions answered

Does the example represent a service I can use now?

No. SkyPouch is in development and delivery bookings are not available.

Will larger medical freight be carried?

Larger freight is a potential future application. Aircraft, payload limits, handling controls and operating permissions have not been validated as a public service offer.
